The Hotel

The Reykjavik Konsulat Hotel is situated in the heart of historic Reykjavik, where Icelandic heritage meets modern sophistication. This charming building, once an elegant department store managed by Consul Thomsen and his family in the 19th and 20th centuries, was thoughtfully renovated in 2018. It perfectly combines contemporary comforts with a nod to Reykjavik’s rich culture. The hotel boasts a Wine Room, an elegant space ideal for socializing, offering exceptional service, a curated selection of fine wines, and a menu of small dishes designed to complement the wine experience. Additionally, the hotel features a ”bathhouse” with an original 19th-century stone wall that honours Iceland’s tradition of natural bathing, complete with a hot tub, sauna, and relaxation area. A fitness room is also available, open around the clock for guests.
