The Hotel
Hostal de La Gavina opened its doors for the first time in 1932 with only 11 rooms. The building was part of the community of chalets by the sea that the owner, Josep Ensesa, was building with the designs of the architect, Rafael Masó i Valentí, a renowned defender of traditional Catalan design who defined the character of S’Agaró with porticoes, towers, terraces and low-line roofs to create a neighbourhood aimed at those with taste for art. S’Agaró has grown slowly without ever losing sight of its origins. The Hostal de La Gavina has also been growing. Today, the 11 rooms have become 74, and the hotel has gradually added the seawater pool, spa, restaurants and meeting facilities, but maintains its original style and continues to maintain its historical heritage since the first day. The old mixes with the new in a subtle and timeless way. All rooms are elegantly decorated, many of which include a terrace, offering views of the hotel gardens or the Mediterranean Sea.
