The Hotel

La Bandita Townhouse is a 12-room luxury boutique hotel tucked inside the historic center of Pienza, a tiny Renaissance jewel of a village in southern Tuscany. The former historic convent from the 15th century has been completely transformed into a comfortable, fun, and stylish place to relax, eat well and get caught up in the daily rhythms of everyday life. This exclusive hideaway brings together contemporary design with wood beam ceilings, parquet floors, and exposed stone walls that are centuries old.  All the rooms have queen size beds, high ceilings, luxury fixtures and air conditioning. From the top floor suites, you have sweeping views across the Val D’Orcia to Montepulciano, Montefollonico and Monte Amiata. Common areas include a large open library with an honor bar and reading chairs. A private spa suite is available to book for treatments and use of the steam bath and hot tub. The Townhouse Caffe is a small in-house restaurant and wine bar with an open kitchen and an intimate covered outdoor seating area inside the walled medieval garden.

Location

The hotel is located inside the historic center Pienza, one of the prettiest Tuscan hill towns in the midst of some of the most photographed landscapes in Italy. The breathtaking, unblemished landscape surrounding the village has served as the film sets for The English Patient, Gladiator, and Under the Tuscan Sun and many others. Pienza is the perfect base for exploring the Brunello and Vino Nobile wine regions as well as the charming hill towns of southern Tuscany: Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona, Siena, and more.
